DESCRIPTION:This is a free event but registration is required.  Click here to register \nA little bit about our guest speakers: \nDr. Nick is a licensed counselor and clinical supervisor in Virginia\, Maryland\, and the District of Columbia. He is certified by the National Board of Certified Counselors as a Telehealth professional and holds a Doctorate\, of Education in Counseling Psychology from Argosy University and a BS in Psychology\, and a Master of Science Degree in Psychology with a specialization in Leadership Coaching and Development from Capella University. \nTierra Sydnor-Diggs also known as the “Savvy Soul Social Worker” is a licensed clinical social worker and a mental health subject matter expert. She is a native of Baltimore\, a graduate of Coppin State University and the University of Maryland School of Social Work with a concentration in clinical practices with children and families. Tierra is a sought-after speaker\, trainer\, and culture and climate consultant providing training and professional development locally and internationally. Most recently\, Tierra has worked with the NFL Player Association\, the National Association of Social Workers\, the Jamaica Diaspora Behavioral and Mental Health Task Force and the Jamaica Diaspora Worldwide Educational Task Force. \nDr. Rhonda M. Wood\, is recognized as one of the most prominent voices for mental health advocacy and is an award-winning international keynoter\, bestselling author\, and a leading authority on mental health. Leveraging over 30 years of corporate experience\, Rhonda impacts audiences with her mission to normalize and destigmatize mental health conversations. She trains individuals and corporations worldwide to eradicate mental health stigmas and adopt compassion\, awareness\, and acceptance. \nMazie Gibson and Sibyl Farr have implemented a Crossroads Project Reach-R (Redirecting Emotional Attitudes Cultivating Healthy Relationships). This program is designed to help young people redirect emotional attitudes and cultivate healthy relationships at various crossroads in their life. It consists of thirteen sessions that will meet weekly and are an evidence-based program. It also plans to enhance the experience for participants by offering local trips. The program we used is Love Notes. It aims to help young people make wise relationship and sexual choices that will help them rather than create barriers to achieving their education\, employment\, connection\, and family goals.
